Full-time job...attained!

I have been working at my full-time job now for a little over a month. (Only took me a year after graduation from college). I can't believe that I have a job with benefits. I'm working a customer service job particularly through phone and e-mail. I am learning a lot about the industry in which I am working and most important to me, I really love the people I work with.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the building is undergoing renovations which are turning out to be very nice. I have my own desk with an open floor plan where I can talk to and ask questions of my colleagues and higher ups.

I'm currently working Wednesday-Sunday, which...is not ideal, but hopefully that won't have to be for more than a year. I am happy that if I so choose I can have the opportunity to move around in the company and move up depending on how well I do. I feel like I'm starting a career. Who knows what this could turn into?

Let's be honest, customer service is not anyone's ideal job. I have to think of a real wish list for what I want in my long-term career. I am working as hard as I can to be a sponge for information and doing the best I can everyday.

I have glimpses of people I graduated from college and high school with doing jobs that I wanted, glamourous careers in fashion, or selling homes in New York City, and I am a bit envious but not enough to forget about the wonderful things my life has brought me in the past couple of months.

I've adopted an adorable dog named Jade, and she's fantastic. She is pretty low maintenance, and I enjoy her company and taking care of her. Oh! And I bought a car! A 2010 Nissan Altima, and she's a beauty.
